Early this year, Arcana Windows as a SAWDAC/WINDOW WISE Certified Dealer was able to offer the installation of high performance windows that would benefit from the GreenON rebate program. This offered benefits both in energy-saving and in the financial costs of installations. Many customers have benefited under this program.
Unfortunately at the end of June, the GreenON rebate program was cancelled. Only projects already approved could receive the rebates provided they were completed by October 31. The success of the Program has meant that there have been a flood of projects which has put a stress on window manufacturers and installers and has caused undue delays. Everyone is working very hard to meet the deadline but this is creating real difficulties.
SAWDAC is pushing for an extension for already accepted projects
SAWDAC (the Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada) is encouraging everyone to contact their local MPP’s to ask for an extension in the allowable time for completion for already accepted projects. They should also copy their letters to Doug Ford, Vic Fedeli, Minister of Finance and Michael Parsa, Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (small business). The association is confirming that everyone in the window business, supplier, manufacturer, dealer, and installer are doing everything possible to get the Green Ontario jobs done in time and done right.
